ADHD
Problems with focus, follow-through, and restlessness showing up at school, work and home. Care begins with a comprehensive evaluation rather than a quick screening for children age six and up, and for adults too.
Compassionate psychiatric care for individuals ages 6 through end of life, from where you already are. You will not be rushed, and you will never be judged.
Stephanie Ball, PMHNP-BC · ANCC board certified · Licensed in Missouri
"I take the time to listen, I try to see the whole situation, and we work together to reach your goals."
Stephanie started Mindful Psychiatry to provide meaningful care for people seeking psychiatry services; the kind of care that is built around the person in front of her not their diagnostic label. She is a board-certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, credentialed through the ANCC and licensed in Missouri, and she sees patients across the lifespan, ranging from age six through the end of life.
Every visit starts with your story. Understanding what you are actually dealing with comes before any talk of treatment.
Work, sleep, family, physical health and history all shape mental health. Your plan accounts for the parts that matter.
Options are explained in plain language, questions are welcome, and nothing gets decided for you.
A past plan that did not work is useful information, not a dead end. Bring it. It usually tells us where to start.

Worry you cannot switch off, physical tension, thoughts you cannot stop thinking, or panic that arrives without warning. We treat anxiety ranging from generalized to panic and everything in between.
Low mood, no desire to engage, physical and mental exhaustion, or numbness, when it stops feeling temporary and starts taking over your days. We complete a full evaluation first, then develop a plan and review it together at regular check-ins.
When something from the past keeps intruding on the present and flashbacks, nightmares, or feelings of having to constantly be on guard are affecting your relationships and your ability to live your life. Expect trauma-informed care from the very beginning, that moves at your pace.
The months after a birth can bring anxiety, intrusive thoughts, or a heaviness that surprises you. It is common, treatable and says nothing about you as a parent. Care is non-judgmental and understanding, to help you feel like yourself again.
Nights spent staring at the ceiling, or sleep that never leaves you feeling rested. Care begins by addressing the root cause, before considering sleep medications.
Close symptom evaluation paired with ongoing review and adjustment of the medications you take helps to ensure that you are never over-medicated and are on the safest medications for you.
